As someone who is in middle school, I’ve considered writing a book. My favorite (cough) comments are those stupid/homophobic bullying methods, i.e. (and real) “What? You got milk? Milk is gay.”
I’m shocked they knew what lynching was. In my high school, people didn’t know what lynching was. Or the holocaust for that matter.
I do not even want to know about any lynching where they used pins! That is beyond horrific. Or maybe the child is imagining some kind of commemorative pin to celebrate a lynching.

I’m not surprised. I’m 29, and I learned about lynching in 3rd grade when I was reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
