Students were supposed to write an essay describing their favorite day of the week. They were expected to give their favorite day of the week and explain why they preferred this day above the others (presumably, a classroom of essays full of Fridays and Saturdays). One of my students seemed a bit confused and couldn’t decide how to start writing. I asked her if she needed help and this happened:
“Mister Karabekian, is Christmas a day of the week?”
“No, days of the week are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on.”
“Oh okay, so what about my birthday?”
